Information We Collect
- Student Identification Data: Name, Student ID number, email address.
- Academic Information: Registered courses, grades, class schedules, and university announcements.
- Device Information & Identifiers: Operating system version, device model, and unique identifiers used for push notifications and app performance.
- App Usage Statistics: Non-personally identifiable diagnostic and usage analytics to improve services.
How We Use Information
- To provide secure access to courses, grades, and academic announcements.
- To send push notifications regarding urgent updates, schedule changes, and deadlines.
- To maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize app performance and user experience.
Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Your personal data is shared with Al-Hussein Technical University (HTU) administration solely for academic and operational purposes.
We may utilize trusted third-party service providers (such as notification services and app analytics tools) strictly to facilitate app functionality. These providers process limited technical data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements and in accordance with privacy laws.
Account and Data Management
Institutional Accounts: User accounts for the HTU Students Portal are provisioned and managed externally by the Al-Hussein Technical University (HTU) administration. Because these accounts are tied to official academic records, users cannot create or delete their university accounts directly through this mobile application.
Data Retention: HTU is required to retain academic records, including enrollment status and grades, in accordance with educational regulations and university policy. Therefore, complete deletion of student data is not possible while actively enrolled or where legally mandated for alumni records.
App-Specific Data: If you wish to remove app-specific data from your device, you can log out of the application and uninstall it. To inquire about your official academic records or to request corrections to your data, please contact the administration at HTUSIS@htu.edu.jo.
Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including data encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and restricted database access on secure servers, to safeguard your information.
